Our clients say such nice things….
I have been going to The Pilates Studio in Hadley for almost a year. I began the year in constant pain from severe neuropathy all over my body. I practically lived on anti-inflammatory medication. I am writing this for several reasons – to urge others who experience chronic conditions involving pain to try Pilates; to thank Jenni for being an incredible instructor; and to share an amazing side effect of Pilates. I am no longer in constant pain to the surprise of my neurologist, I look forward to my private sessions with Jenni and best of all….I grew one inch taller! Yesterday I went for a Dexa test to measure bone density and the technician informed me that I grew in height since last year. She asked if I take Pilates and when I said yes she told me that this happens with some frequency. So, Pilates not only is the cure for my pain issues, it obviously has recovered any bone loss that I was experiencing. I am eternally grateful to The Pilates Studio for helping to improve the quality of my life…..and for giving me an excuse to buy new (longer) pants.

I came to The Pilates Studio in a sad state after finding out I have a collapsed disc in my lower back. The doctor told me surgery was the only real option. I could hardly walk or sit. I asked my chiropractor (who had stopped adjusting my back after we found out I had the disc issue) if there was anything that might work??? He scratched his head, and said, “Well a few of my clients went to the The Pilates Studio in Hadley and I haven’t seen them since!” HELLO! I hobbled over there as quick as I could : -)

As a survivor of many workout places, THE PILATES STUDIO is a keeper! I’ve been there 10 weeks now and I still love it. Katrina and Laurie are welcoming, attentive and eager to help me learn how my body works and I already see the results. I can bend over to put the dog’s water and food down with no problem!

The Pilates Studio makes me happy. Sometimes I just don’t feel like exercising but whenever I get to Pilates I’m relieved I came. Laurie and Katrina are _the best_! They always make you feel like your health, your body and how you feel is very important. They are always striving to make you feel more flexible, pain free and strong.

Before I began doing Pilates at The Pilates Studio (because of abdominal surgery) I wasn’t able to feel my abdominal muscles. Now, not only can I feel them but they are strong! (and I had fun getting them strong!)

If you are intimidated by the thought of joining a gym or new class, this is the place for you. I can’t say enough about how friendly, nonjudgmental, and accessible this place is. At the same time, they will challenge you as much as you need/want them to. I’ve been going for almost 3 years and I actually look forward to each class!

Before I started taking pilates classes with Katrina, I hated to exercise & was definitely out of tune with my body. I had two small children and a busy career. Katrina has taught me how to open my chest, sit taller and engage my abdominals, and the hour (or sometimes two) that I spend at The Pilates Studio is my favorite time of every week. Katrina and Laurie have created an environment that doesn’t just support the body but the spirit of those of us who are lucky enough to use the center. Exercises are adapted to support individual needs and I am now able to identify a part of my body that is feeling stiff or sore and know that they will be able to give me advise and exercise that will leave me feeling better. The non-competitive environment fosters friendships and easy chatting for those that want that as well as quiet contemplation for those that don’t. At 37 years old, I finally feel like I understand the needs of my body and am pleased to have found a form of exercise that I can practice for the rest of my life.
