Every year in March, the world wide Pilates community comes together on Instagram to celebrate the 34 Original Mat exercises created by Joseph Pilates.

We'll be posting the daily exercise on Instagram, as well as featuring the exercises in classes, adding new mat classes to the schedule and of course, having fun.  

Here's how you can get involved............

WIN $200 

 We will pull one lucky winner from the March Matness raffle bowl. $200 will go on their studio account.

  1. Each Mat Class you attend in March = 1 raffle ticket. 
  2. Attend on “double threat” days = 1 (extra) raffle ticket.
  3. Post on social media with hashtags =1 raffle ticket

For Example: If you come to class on a double threat day AND you post on social media you get entered 3 TIMES that day.

We’ll be having a random drawing (live on facebook) on April 1st.

  2. Get a photo of the #MarchMatness daily exercise.  Post it on Instagram or facebook with hashtags.

This event is private for Umass  students in the CHAARG program, which stands for “Changing Health, Attitudes, + Actions to Recreate Girls.” It is a health and fitness organization at UMass Amherst run ENTIRELY by students. We are part of a national organization, CHAARG, that was started at the Ohio State University in 2012 and now has 51 Chapters across the United States.The reason this organization was started was to change the mentality that girls have about fitness -- we want to liberate girls from the elliptical + show them that fitness can + SHOULD be fun.

Suzanne Mente is a homegrown instructor, trained and certified to teach pilates by Katrina Hawley at The Pilates Center of Western Massachusetts. She has been practicing pilates for over 10 years, and, as coach of the UMass Dressage Team, she has introduced many students to the benefits of pilates. Suzanne is particularly interested in helping horse riders improve their balance, strength and flexibility in order to better connect with their horses. As a coach and lecturer through the equine program at UMass, Suzanne is a natural teacher who enjoys inspiring others to learn.

Barre sculpt is a dance inspired fitness class that uses the ballet barre, small weights, bands, and Pilates circles to tone, strengthen, and sculpt your body. No dance experience is necessary. It is a mashup of yoga, ballet, and Pilates jam-packed into a 60 minute workout set to music.
