What Our Clients Are Saying...

The best possible instructors, knowledgeable understanding of complex physical issues.

Cathy is fun, very supportive, and always attentive to those who need extra help. Most importantly, my body feels great after a class with her. Thank you, Cathy!

I know doing Pilates has improved my balance because nine months ago I was rubbish at bird dogs (being on hands and knees and reaching opposite arm and leg long). I could hold them for about 5 seconds and wobbled all over. Now I can hold them for 30 seconds and my form is good!

Nancy’s Barre Class is a blast! She is a great instructor who is highly skilled and has helped me get fit. I highly recommend this class!

5 Stars for Cathy!! My daughter and I did introductory semi-private lessons with Cathy. We both have different issues and she has been very attentive and helpful to us both. After the Christmas holidays are over, we will discuss where to go next-continue with semi-private lessons or enroll in some classes.Cathy is knowledgeable, skillful, patient, and personable. I'm hoping to continue with her!

Of the many benefits to being a regular at The Pilates Studio, the most surprising is that after a couple of years, my spine unfurled to the point that my height now measures an inch taller in my fifties! Polestar Pilates is the best method I have found for getting rid of aches and pains and feeling strong and balanced. All of the instructors here are very gifted and helpful.

Pilates has helped me stay injury free and has improved my running form so that I can be a more efficient and stronger runner. Nate has given me so many tools that I can take with me when I do independent sessions. His ability to analyze my running form and make small changes to my form has made a huge impact.

Bone density class is so empowering! I am constantly amazed at my progress. My balance, strength and confidence has grown so much due to these classes! Thank you to all the excellent staff!

I just started a Pilates Challenge #2! I did it and finished it, in the summer but wasn't able to take advantage of the deep discount you can get if you finish all 3 and then just keep going. This time I plan not only keep on doing Pilates but also to mix it with the Apparatus classes, which are still kinda new to me but I love the fact that I can take 2 classes in the same day and they both gonna be totally different. It's also a great way to meet all the instructors working at the Hadley Pilates studio, they are all great & knowledgeable. Well, join me if you also love Pilates and challenges 🙂 I highly recommend it..

I really didn't know what to expect when I met with Katrina last year for her to evaluate my legs and hips after both of my hips had been replaced two years ago. She knew exactly what exercises I needed to rebuild my strength and balance. The pilate exercise equipment has given my back support so that I have been pain free during all of the training. In the small group I attend, there is a mixture of ages and abilities, and each of us works on our own set of exercises under Katrina's direction. She couldn't be kinder. Even though there are pilates studies closer to me in Westfield, it is worth it to drive to Hadley for the excellent training I experience there.

I have been going to The Pilates Studio for several years now and can only say great things. I wish I was more consistent with going, but when I do return I find that the mat and reformer classes all help with my low back and hip tightness. I especially love the atmosphere - I find that those sneaky instructors make my core work double just by making me laugh in nearly every class! The instructors are super knowledgable, and every class seems to have something new or different to keep it interesting. I recommend TPS to nearly every person I talk to who wants a good, balanced workout with fun and creativity. 5 Stars!!

I can tie my shoe, one foot at a time, standing in one leg.
It’s true!

I have been going to The Pilates Studio for several years now and they never disappoint! I have done classes or sessions with every teacher and find them all to be incredibly knowledgeable, nice and helpful. No matter which teacher you see, you will get something out of it that leads towards more strength, confidence and positivity towards your body. Lately I have been working on core work and have found that work to really help my back, my stability, and my posture. I highly recommend TPS!!

Nancy is one of my favorite instructors at the Pilates Studio.I take her 7 AM class three times per week before going to work. I leave her class feeling more energized and much stronger! Nancy is a very patient, knowledgeable, and skilled instructor. Her class is challenging, but lots of fun. I highly recommend taking any class that Nancy is teaching at the Pilates Studio.

Nothing like starting a snowy Monday with Pilates and Nancy! Great class....I feel ready to hit the slopes!

One of my favorite instructors is Cathy. She is super knowledgeable and caring and her reformer classes really push you to get strong fast. Being in a class led by Cathy feels like you're with a team of perfectly choreographed athletes... quiet, focused and moving fluidly from one exercise to the next. It is both meditative and active and I leave feeling strong, balanced and confident. Thank you, Cathy!!

The folks at the Pilates Studio are skilled, caring, and passionate about what they do. We're lucky to have them in our community!

All of them are in my box of chocolates! Each person gives their all at every session and encounter, from a warm welcome, to cheering us on, modifying exercises while still empowering, and a hearty goodbye! They all hold a special place in my heart.

Lauren was absolutely fabulous as our fill-in Monday AM instructor for two weeks. She was full of energy, passion and great ideas for us to try in our class.
I especially loved her attention to detail to ensure we were all in the correct positions in order to obtain the intended outcome of the movement.
What a gem for us and for The Pilates Studio.

Nancy is fantastic at explaining exactly what to do, and providing help and encouragement. She's wonderful!

Bone density class is so empowering! I am constantly amazed at my progress. My balance, strength and confidence has grown so much due to these classes! Thank you to all the excellent staff!

My weekly Reformer class work has inspired me to devote an hour daily to core and balance exercises. The results are obvious!

I have been coming to the Pilates Studio for a relatively short time, but from my first 1:1 class with Katrina and now attending small group sessions, I am so impressed with how knowledgeable she is about addressing issues with the body in such a kind and caring way. It's very obvious that the staff at the studio care deeply, not only about the health of people, but also about the environment. Thank you!

I started doing Pilates at the beginning of my 2nd Trimester. Friends told me how much Pilates helped them so even though I was exhausted I wanted to give it a try. I loved it from day 1! It was the perfect way to exercise given how low my energy was. Kristy developed a great program for me. I've always struggled with what I call a "sway back" and I was worried about my belly getting bigger and putting a lot of strain in my low back. The Pilates exercises transformed the way I stand! A surprise benefit was that Kristy was able to help me with chronic knee pain I've had since spraining my ankle many years ago. I feel more balanced and comfortable walking and standing for long periods of time! I can't wait continue working with Kristy after the baby is born.

The Pilates Studio is fabulous! All of the staff are highly knowledgeable and supportive in achieving fitness goals. I have come so far the past two years that I have been working out here!
Having arthritis can be a challenge but there is always a modification available. Exercises I couldn’t do, I can now! My pain is much reduced, bone density has improved as well as my strength and confidence!

I know my balance has improved since doing Pilates because....I can put on my underweat better! I can stand on one foot without wavering.

Hip alignment and muscle response has improved my balance and makes landing harder figure skating jumps with more ease on that 1/8” blade!

At four-months post hip replacement surgery, Tristan’s restorative class is helping me to ease back into Pilates classes. The class is a perfect mix of stretch and strength.

I moved from NYC and was sad to leave my pilates instructors there, but I'm so happy I found such a good new pilates home here. I've done private sessions, small groups, and classes with almost all of the instructors, who all have uniquely effective ways to help me improve my posture, strength, flexibility, and stability. I've never seen or used such a diverse collection of equipment and props, or a group of teachers so eager to invent new ways to benefit from them all. There's a great sense of friendly community spanning all ages and fitness levels, and I'm always excited to walk in the door.

I started Pilates not long after I found out I was pregnant- I had been planning on it before but could never seem to find the time. I'm so glad I did! Pilates is by far my most favorite type of exercise. I actually look forward to going (rather than looking forward to be done). The instructors at The Pilates Studio adapted and challenged me appropriatly has my belly grew and body changed. I was doing session up until 3 days before I went into labor! My OBGYN even allowed me to return to Pilates before 6weeks postpartum because she knows and trusts these instructors. I safely got working on strengthening my pelvic floor. More than anything- Pilates postnatal is helping with my upper back which is so sore from breast feeding.

My small group lesson is great. Each person has their individual program to work on, and every week our instructor sets a unique challenge for each of us. I find I can now do things I never thought I'd be able to do!

My improved balance is noticed most when doing my daily 2 mile hike in the woods each day. I was stumbling and falling way to much to totally enjoy myself out there plus I’d never look up because I knew I’d probably stumble again. What I noticed is that I’m looking up as I walk and don’t stumble! If I do catch a root and trip, I immediately am able to catch my balance before I hit the ground... but it just doesn’t happen anymore.... I love Pilates! It has improved my quality of life.

Nothing like starting a snowy Monday with Pilates and Nancy! Great class....I feel ready to hit the slopes!

I took Ruth's reformer class and was hooked. Ruth is a great instructor and I feel great after her Sunday reformer class.

I have had arthritis for many years. The Pilates Reformer Classes are the best pain pill going! I have greatly increased my strength, balance and flexibility!

I mostly attend the Mat classes and each class is different. Not only because there is around half a dozen instructor who teach Pilates on mat on a regular basis, but even the same teacher will regularly mix it up a little; hand weights, fitness balls, the Oov (I hope I'm spelling the name of that thing right, ;-), resistance bands, small squishy balls, the "magic circle" etc. Not a one class is the same, which I love! And every single of their teachers are not only certified in Pilates and very knowledgeable in anatomy & general fitness, they're also friendly and funny. I never had a bad class at this Pilates studio in my 8+ years of patronizing it, and I always feel batter afterwards!

I am an older client who comes to the Pilates Studio in Hadley to work with an individual trainer twice a week. Generally I do not really feel like going to exercise what with past injuries and arthritis. However, after the first step inside this uniquely friendly Pilates studio I find the warmth and and good cheer of all the trainers, along with the upbeat laughter throughout the studio, begins to make me feel better immediately. By the end of each session I am always so glad I made myself come because I my body feels more capable and I feel thoroughly cheered up. The program my trainer guides me through is tailored to my individual needs and the philosophy of the whole studio is to meet the clients where they are and build from there, no matter what their capabilities. And that includes challenging the already super fit as well as the disabled. I have made more gains in my personal fitness and general feeling of well-being following the Pilates program than any other fitness program I have enrolled in. I enthusiastically encourage anyone to come and learn on their own how the Pilates Studio of Hadley program can enhance their life.

Because I've been doing Pilates I'm now able to work in the ICU without tripping over tubes! My patients are safer because my balance is better.

Cathy: Thanks for a great bone density class. You are a wonderful teacher.

Not only has my standing balance improved but my dynamic balance has improved since I've been doing Pilates. I can feel that this is one of the many results from having a strong core!!!

The Pilates Studio is a delightfully supportive environment that I love being a part of. The instructors are patient and extremely knowledgeable of The Pilates Method. It’s always a ton of fun to participate in classes AND I feel fabulous each time I complete a session. Kudos to Laurie, Katrina and Mark for making the Pilates studio in Hadley such a welcoming place.

I have been taking classes with Nancy for the past year and a half. She is a master teacher with a fun personality and endless energy. I attend her 7 a.m. mat class three times per week and she strives to continually keep it fun and new. I have also taken her Reformer and her Barre class and am always impressed with how knowledgable she is. Nancy makes all of her students feel welcome and comfortable in her class. She is an excellent Pilates Instructor and I highly recommend you taking a class from her!

10 20 30 was such a great program for me and it came at a perfect time, when I thought I'd be way too busy to do it. I now realize that we always think we're way too busy and I now know how many classes are offered. I just love these incentive-based, game like programs you are coming up with! Keep on keepin' on!

Holly rocks! She is incredibly knowledgeable and designs excellent workouts that are creative and that provide exercises you can work on outside of the studio. She is patient, thoughtful, and funny and has made a significant and continuing impact on our overall wellness!

Tristan is a relatively new instructor at the Pilates Studio in Hadley but she is not new to teaching and is very knowledgeable & experienced in Pilates and general fitness. I like her approach and look forward to trying out new classes that are just starting. She is a great addition to the staff there!

I work with Katrina Hawley at The Pilates Studio and I am always impressed with her knowledge, skill, and expertise. No matter the issue, she can address it! The workouts are fun and I know I'm working intelligently and efficiently with her guidance. In addition, The Pilates Studio is a warm and welcoming environment with a wonderful sense of community. I highly recommend The Pilates Studio!

My core strength and balance has improved immensely since I started PIlates two years ago.
I can stand on one leg at at time and balance myself with confidence. Yeah! Could not have done that two years ago.
Having taken up golf again and I noticed I have more stability in my swing and power.
Too bad I didn’t know about lowering my shoulders years ago. That would have saved me from a lot of pain across my neck and shoulders over the years.
Such a little thing but what a difference.
THANKS to THE Pilates Studio I have more energy and more awareness about my body.

Nancy’s Barre class is a wonderful all around workout. She makes me feel competent at movements that may be beyond my scope. With its use of weights and the bar it is a nice complement to the classic mat class. Been doing the class for almost 2 years and I feel stronger, more balanced, and more flexible. Nancy is a gem

I know Pilates can be a bit pricey but the monetary investment is well worth it. As a 72 year old, I experience osteoarthritis in my knees; sciatica, stenosis and other “getting older” issues. As a result of Pilates I’ve been able to avoid some surgeries, and my quality of life has definitely improved. I would rather spend money investing in my health and my ability to move around than on doctors and drugs. What good is having a bit more money if you are unable to move around to enjoy! PLUS, the instructors are some of the best I’ve ever worked with. I am truly grateful.

Since starting Pilates my balance has improved so much that I can actually fly — well, OK, almost.

I took a bad fall two years ago. During my recovery I started Pilates reformer classes. I have been working on my strength, balance and core. I am able to step up on to the platform without panicking, perform planks and for the very first time stand on one leg and extend the other behind while holding the springs! I feel so happy and proud! Special shout out to Cathy and Kay!

Someone just asked me "what keeps you coming to Pilates?" Honestly? RESULTS! No matter what kind of week I've had or how bad my body feels before I come to Pilates, I leave feeling stronger, pain-free and balanced. As I walk out, I literally feel GREAT and believe me, that causes a ripple effect in the Universe 🙂 Just ask my coworkers or the guys at Dunkin' Donuts that hand me my iced coffee through the drive thru and say: "Pilates this morning?" What I have found helpful to motivate me to come back is to book my classes through the phone app one week in advance. If you struggle with self-care guilt, as I sometimes do, just enter it into your calendar as "Meeting with Laurie" or "Weekly meeting with Kay." Only you will know but the Universe will thank you.

Combining work on the OOV and in Building Strong Bones reformer classes
made it possible for me to balance in passé after 40 years of ballet!

I pulled something deep in my hip joint at the gym and over the next year pain developed in my knee. I had PT twice a week for three months and nothing changed. I came to the Pilates studio and after 1 session with Katrina the pain was much reduced, after 2 sessions i was pain free. I have continued to work with Katrina and in partnership with her have learned so much about how I move and use my body. She is so very smart and kind!

Pilates has given me more benefits that I didn't expect, especially better balance, which is important as I get older. I really miss going to the studio for mat and reformer classes, but am so grateful that the online classes--both live and recorded--are available, so I can still do Pilates several times per week.

Nancy is a terrific Pilates instructor. She's personable, funny and a no-nonsense Pilates woman. She keeps challenging us each week with new exercises and I love it. Thanks Nancy!

I have been going to The Pilates Studio in Hadley for about 2 years now. This place is phenomenal! I try to do Pilates 5 to 6 times per week and this place offers many options and classes to keep it fresh and to challenge me as my skills improve. I have learned so much about Pilates and myself since finding this very special studio.

Nancy’s Barre Class is a blast! Nancy is a great instructor who is highly skilled and has helped me get fit. I highly recommend this class!

started Pilates last year in recovery from a herniated disc and sciatica, upon recommendation from a number of people including my sports medicine doc. Wow, what a life changing event--and I don't mean the back injury. I've had low-grade back pain for ~30 years since starting martial arts practice in my 20's, and my back is now better than it's been since before then! Katrina has helped me really understand how my body works and moves, and I quickly got back to my routines in dance, rock climbing, splitting wood, etc.--and general embracing of my physical life--even better than in the past. My regular workouts on the Pilates apparatus at the Hadley studio are a fixture in my life, and occasional series of independent sessions with Katrina help me on my path toward continued improvement in feeling good and moving strong and free.
And one more thing: the studio is so wonderfully laid out and managed, with such attention to detail, that it's a pleasure just be there. I feel very taken care of!

Nancy-Thank you for always pushing your 7am team to be better each week. You change up the routines and bring new challenges weekly for us to grow and become better. You make getting up at 5:30 easy!

I have been fortunate to have taken a number of classes with Tristan over the past few months. She is an extremely skilled instructor with a compassionate, warm personality. Her classes are very relaxing, yet you work your core and increase flexibility through her very thoughtful flow of exercises. I highly recommend taking a class with Tristan. You'll be very happy that you did!

I take Cathy’s bone density class on Friday mornings, and I just love it! Her course is well structured and moves at a good clip. She is extremely knowledgeable, and like all the other instructors at the Pilates Studio, she knows how to challenge us while giving clear instructions that emphasize safety. She is fun, very supportive, and always attentive to those who need extra help. Most importantly, my body feels great after a class with Cathy. Thank you, Cathy!

I’d never tried Pilates before and signed up for a Beginner Series of individual sessions. I was hooked right away and added more individual sessions to keep progressing.
The instructor, Nate, has been incredibly helpful! He is specific in his instruction and always encouraging - exactly what I needed. And he tailors our sessions to address my particular issues and goals. I’m only a few weeks in and already feel better than I used to.
I also signed up for a beginner reformer class as soon as it was offered and am excited to be learning more and doing Pilates more often.
I’m very happy that I started coming here!

I started at the Pilates Studio 3.5 years ago after a series of injuries. In that time, in combination with other activities, my strength has grown tremendously! I can complete exercises now that I only could have dreamed about previously! Most importantly, I can feel the difference in core and leg strength in many of my daily activities including hiking! I have enjoyed every instructor I have worked with in that time!

I'm addicted to all the classes and teachers here. I started Pilates while recovering from a serious back injury. Katrina took the time to get to know my body and my goals, and came up with a routine that was safe and more effective than any PT I'd tried. I improved so quickly, and was able to move on to more challenging things to build and maintain my strength, flexibility, and balance. There are options available for lots of different price points, schedules, and learning personalities (focused solo attention or more social group interactions). I've now had sessions and classes with almost all the instructors, and would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone."

I am so grateful that my dr. referred me to Katrina and the Pilates Studio. I have had 2 back surgeries and Katrina has been amazing at helping me to work through some fear and apprehension to gain strength again. I totally respect her expertise as she works with so many of us who have our own story working on our individual programs. I take her small group class and have met some great people who are part of the group as well! I have also taken classes with Nate and Kathy - both super! And Kay, another staff person, has been so supportive in understanding both the physical and emotional part of this recovery journey. Everyone is behind you and I'm feeling stronger every day! Thanks, Katrina (and all!)

I tried the Pilates Studio as an experiment, I’m sticking around because of the good vibes. The instructors are all very knowledgeable, as well as being cheerful, positive, encouraging and nurturing in their roles. If you have pain issues, asymmetries, and other bodily weirdness, they’re all great at accommodating your limitations and helping you find movements you can do instead of forcing yourself into poses that hurt. The cost is higher than a standard gym membership, but I’m getting such good instruction and encouragement that it’s worth it.

I am new to pilates and have recently begun taking small group reformer classes after my 3 helpful introductory classes with Nate. I can't believe I waited so long! I love the studio, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Cathy and Kristy have both helped me feel comfortable as a new student and I honestly feel better in my body already! Happy new customer!

My balance as definitely improved since I have been doing pilates at the Pilates Studio. I know this because the split leg work I do on the reformer on the floor. I do not shake or feel imbalanced as I did two years ago… I also see balance improvement with the arm work I do on the spring board… particularly the lunge….I am stable. I so appreciate Pilates as does my body… Thank you!

After a back injury I started Pilates as a way to continue to heal when PT had ended. Cathy made me a Pilates convert. I still rely on her a year and a half later. She proved to be someone I could always trust to know what I could do--or shouldn't do. My sessions, from the start, have been enormously helpful and (to my surprise) enjoyable!

My balance has improved tremendously since taking pilates lessons with Katrina. I am more sure footed and I don't trip as often. My posture has improved which in turn has improved my balance. Strengthening my legs and engaging my core has really helped my balance.

When the Sunday Mat class was canceled, I saw on a the schedule a morning reformer class. I never took a reformer class before. For the several years I have been coming to the Pilates Studio, I only focused on mat classes(really never going upstairs- just to the basement for mat classes). The reformer classes were more expensive and looking back maybe I was a bit intimidated. Well, since taking my first reformer class around the start of this year, I can say- the $ is worth it. I take reformer classes regularly with Ruth and Tristan and they are both great instructors. I am still amazed with how versatile the reformer is- how many leg, arm, back, core, combination exercises you can do. I feel great after each class, challenged and satisfied. Thank you.

I know my balance has improved since doing Pilates because now I often forget to take my cane!

Laurie’s class is always enjoyable. She is an extremely skilled instructor whose classes are the perfect combination of fun and sweat. I leave her class feeling relaxed, refreshed, and strong!

The Pilates Studio has been a crucial part of my recovery from chronic back issues. Having had two surgeries in the past, I was bound and determined to never have another. The Pilates Studio has helped me meet that goal with safe and effective exercises that gave my back the stability that had been missing for so long. Highly recommended!

Pilates has been the cornerstone of my daily routine for nearly a year now.

Polestar Pilates is the best method I have found for getting rid of aches and pains and feeling strong and balanced. All of the instructors here are very gifted and helpful.

Kay introduced me to pilates and the Pilates Studio about seven years ago. It changed my whole body, my posture, made me much stronger, more agile and balanced, and taught me all kinds of tricks for managing back pain and working out the kinks from hours spent in front of a computer screen. Each class feels like putting myself back together again and it is a glorious feeling. Maybe it is the endorphins, the fabulous teachers, or the friends I've made there, but that feeling keeps me coming back. As the years go by and my body changes, I am still learning, feeling glorious and grateful, after every class at Pilates Studio.

Katrina, Laurie and every one on the staff have created such a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere at the studio. I’ve been going there over three years now, private classes, then small groups and now that I know my exercises I’m doing independent sessions. I absolutely love the Pilates Studio!

I am fairly certain that Pilates has saved my life. One day, while working in the 2nd story loft of my barn, I was standing at the edge holding open the large side door where we would drop hay. A strong wind swung the door open, and because I was hanging on to the door, I started to fall out. As my life flashed before my eyes, I quickly let go of the door, but I was already falling out of the loft. I tightened every muscle in my core, back, and legs to pull myself back from over the edge and securely back on to the loft floor. It was terrifying, and I know Pilates made all the difference that day.

Evening reformer classes with Tristan are a must! Jump class on Monday nights and reformer class on Tuesday nights. She is an amazing instructor. She always comes prepared with new exercises to try. A full body work out. I always feel challenged and extremely satisfied with what I have accomplished. Thank you Tristan!

Since I started doing Pilates I can balance on one leg to reach for something in a tight spot using my abs to stabilize me and other leg to help balance me!

It's amazing how different the Pilates method is from straight plane strengthening. You get strengthening and lengthening of muscles in ways that translate more completely to real world motions. That's the science. The art of Pilates at The Pilates Studio comes from the skilled, curious, fun teachers who help and guide you every step of the way whether you're taking group classes or doing private work. Worth the time and money? Absolutely! It IS life changing.

Increasing my core strength through Pilates has stabilized me and improved my balance.

If you are looking for a professional, caring, safe, and nurturing place to work on flexibility, core strength, and stamina, look no further!!!!

Nancy's sunny attitude (even at 7AM) makes even the most difficult Pilates move seem easy. She ensures everyone is working at his or her own pace, and she's always ready to offer any modifications or suggestions to individualize your experience.

This year I started going to the The Pilates Studio on a regular basis using the 10-20-30 package, focusing on the reformer and it has really been a fantastic experience on many levels. First - my body: after every session I feel more connected to my body, more control over my muscles, and overall just better. Second - the company: all of the teachers are fantastic. Not only are they super knowledgeable and dedicated to helping each individual, but they are fun to be around. I look forward to every session! Third - the people: I didn't come here to make friends, but I have found connection with several individuals that attend the classes with me, and that helps me stay motivated and gives me even more reason to look forward to coming. TPS is a great studio. I recommend it hands-down.

I know my balance has improved since doing Pilates because.... I can stand with confidence on one foot and perform all sorts of tasks with my arms. It's awesome.

I've been coming to the Pilates Studio for several years. Initially I did mostly mat classes, but more recently I've been participating in small groups, or in Pilates for Riders, or doing independent sessions. I feel that my posture has improved about 200%: standing up straight and not slumping have become the norm for me. I also feel like my sense of balance and my overall fitness--particularly core strength--are way better. Everyone is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They listen to what you want to work on, to what physical issues or limitations you might have, etc., and work with you, pushing you enough to help you improve but not so much that you risk injury or making issues worse.
If I had more than two thumbs I'd put them all up; but I'll settle for giving them five stars!

As a woman in my 70s, I am deeply grateful to Pilates for helping me restore and maintain balance and avoid injury. Pilates' vital focus on the importance of balance enables me to move more efficiently and improves functional strength to sustain an active lifestyle at any age.

My balance improved dramatically
by taking classes and working
individually with instructors at
Pilates Studio. My ankles, in
particular are stronger and with
small, simple movements, Katrina
taught me to bend my ankles
without straining them. After several
bad sprains and always feeling
vulnerable to another, me and
my ankles have forgotten that
feeling and move without worry.
Early on, I was surprised to realize
how difficult it was for me to do simple
balance exercises like standing on
one foot and closing my eyes.
Pilates made me stronger by showing
me my physical weaknesses in
a way that did not stress me out and,
to the contrary, gave me the strength
I needed to keep working and gain
bodily confidence.
Thank you so much!!

5 Stars!!

I'd give 6 stars if I could. I've worked with Jenni, Cathy, and Suzanne to rehabilitate after a painful back injury. I couldn't do conventional mat exercises, so they developed a personalized set of exercises I could do on the reformers. Within a month, the pain had largely disappeared. Pilates helped me heal and gain strength; now I'm working on flexibility. I've continued because The Pilates Studio staff is so knowledgeable, professional, and supportive.

After 20 years of yoga I decided I needed core strengthening. I was apprehensive because childhood onset scoliosis caused me to be overly protective of my upper body. And then I heard about Katrina. She has made such a difference in my life. The extent of her knowledge and teaching skill is incredibly impressive. Katrina, Laurie and every one on the staff have created such a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere at the studio. I’ve been going there over three years now, private classes, then small groups and now that I know my exercises I’m doing independent sessions. I absolutely love the Pilates Studio!

Since doing Pilates I've definitely noticed that in the winter, when there's ice, or anytime that I am walking down a dewy-wet grassy hill (can you tell that I own dogs?) I've been much more secure. I can slip slightly and then more or less immediately regain my balance and stay upright.
